Quick Start

Welcome to Duplicate Manager – your solution for finding, preventing, and managing duplicate records.
This quick start guide walks you through the essential steps to get up and running in just a few minutes.

  1. Install Duplicate Manager
    Install the solution from AppSource into your Dataverse environment.
  2. Configure your Environment and Apps to work seamlessly with Duplicate Manager.
  3. Assign Security Roles
    Ensure every user has access to Duplicate Manager’s features by assigning the appropriate roles.
  4. First-Time Opening
    Launch the Duplicate Manager App for the first time.
  5. Configure Entities
    Set up duplicate detection for the entities you want to monitor:

    •  Create Rules to define which fields to compare, choose matching algorithms, assign weights, and more.
    • Set up Duplicate Prevention in Forms to control how and when users are notified (for example during editing or when creating a record).
    • Configure Table Views to define how detected duplicates are presented to users.
  6. Run a Detection Job
    Analyze your existing data to identify duplicates at scale. Use the results to review and take action – such as merging, ignoring, deactivating, or deleting records.
